ABOUT THE BLOG + SEWING
I have a passion for creating and designing and have dabbled with all sorts of design for years, and finally have found my happy spot! My great grandma, grandma and my great aunts all had a gift and love for sewing and I like to think (and hope!) that my love and developing knowledge of sewing has been passed down from them.
ABOUT CHARITY
I feel like the most blessed girl alive, as I have been able to quit my job, work from home, doing what I adore, and I am supported and encouraged by my best friend and husband, Philip. We make our home in small town Saskatchewan, Canada and considering I was known as the girl who hated snow, bad weather, country life and small towns, it is surprising and wonderful that I now love where we live (even with the snow and cold) and cherish my small town life.
I get a lot of questions about my shop name so here goes: Bluebirds + Lemondrops comes from the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and it was in a particularly difficult time in our life that I developed a love for sewing and began my handmade shop. I thought my shop should represent the happiness and joy that now fills us and our home! I also adore Bluebirds, so it seemed very fitting.
I love crafting and sewing and being able to do what I love on a daily basis is what helps to make my life feel so full - that and having a great playlist, the most amazing + supportive family and multiple cups of coffee to keep me going!
